Winchester, VA – The term “Temporary Protected Status” has been in the news quite a bit lately, as groups from Honduras and El Salvador have been put on notice that their TPS is up and they will have to go home. The Associated Press is reporting that the Trump Administration has decided to extend the TPS for 7,000 Syrians for another 18 months, to September 30, 2019, but it has also decided that no more Syrian applications for TPS will be accepted. Temporary protected status for the Syrians was due to expire on March 31.
