Winchester, VA – CNN reports that the House Intelligence Committee voted yesterday evening to release a classified memo which is believed to detail FBI surveillance abuses. The memo was written by committee chairman Devin Nunez, and claims that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (or FISA) surveillance law was abused through the use of the infamous dossier regarding President Trump and Russia in order to obtain a FISA warrant for former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page. Also contained in the memo are the roles of deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and now former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe in the oversight of the invetigation. The memo was couriered to the White House yesterday evening for review. The Democrats have put forth a memo of their own, claiming that the Nunes memo skewed the intelligence on which it is based, and is nothing but an attempt to discredit special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference and collusion in the 2016 elections.
