Winchester, VA – The Federalist is reporting that The New York Times in its Friday edition, revealed the name of the Central Intelligence Agency’s top spy overseeing spying efforts in Iran. The newspaper defended its action, declaring that the revelation of Michael D’Andrea as the new chief was necessary because the agent is “leading an important new administration initiative against Iran.” The article, entitled, “C.I.A. Names New Iran Chief in a Sign of Trump’s Hard Line,” discussed the difficulty of espionage in Iran, where we have no embassy to give our agents diplomatic cover. Another justification for this egregious violation was that the Times had previously released Mr. D’Andrea’s name as the official leading the CIA drone program. Because, two wrongs make a right.
