On this show, I consider a standard objection to Catholic devotion: the charge of idolatrous worship of the Blessed Virgin, the saints, and the angels. I call the show Giving God His Due.
The question boils down to this: What is it that Catholics offer to the Virgin Mary, the other saints, or the angels that is due to God alone? What is God’s due that we are rendering to a creature? That question has never been satisfactorily answered for me by any of the accusers. I propose there is a reason why, and it is because Protestants lack a cult of sacrifice in their religion and therefore they have no sacrifice properly so called to offer to God. Because of that, they look at the devotion we Catholics show the blessed in Heaven and accuse us of idolatry. We, on the other hand, do have a cult of sacrifice — as the true religion always has had since the time of Adam to today. The fathers of the Church give us abundant testimony that this is the way Christians have always thought. The Christian Church always had a Eucharistic Sacrifice! And I prove it in this show.

Great show, as always. I have been looking for something like this to share with family and friends. How is it that one can say that grandma Louise is looking down and smiling and yet does not know what is happening down here and refuses to ask God to help those of us still on earth?
Thanks, Tom! I love the Grandma Louise remark.
