Winchester, VA –  In this Celestial Musings, LifeSite News reports that Father Arturo Sosa Abascal, the Superior General of the Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits, said a week ago that Satan is “a symbolic figure” that we made up in order to express the reality of evil.” Perhaps Father would like to explain that to Padre Pio, who said, “These devils don’t stop striking me. They even tear off my shirt to beat me.”; and to Saint John Vianney who Satan would drag about the room by his feet; and to Saint Gemma Galgani, who Satan dragged around the room by the hair, and was told by him, “For thee there is no more hope of salvation. Thou are in my hands!” Satan, the father of lies, would only say that to someone who believes in him. To those who deny him—he cannot say it, for it is the truth.
