Khan said that the President’s travel restrictions give others “the wrong impression” of Islam?

Winchester, VA – In this Celestial Musings, The Sun reports that London Mayor Sadiq Khan yesterday compared President Trump’s rhetoric in calling for a “total shutdown” of United States borders to ISIS’ rhetoric. The President reportedly said he would make an exception for Khan, but Khan retorted that there is nothing exceptional about him and added “Think about what you are saying. Because what you are saying is not dissimilar to what Daesh or so-called IS says.” Well actually, no Mayor Khan, it is quite different. President Trump never threatened to de-Islamize the existing Muslim population on pain of a very horrific death or slavery. President Trump is not selling Muslims into sexual slavery or drowning Muslims in cages. He has recognized a thread of commonality between those who are perpetrating some of the worst atrocities around the globe, and that thread is Islam. Khan said that the President’s travel restrictions give others “the wrong impression” of Islam. I have to disagree vehemently with this. The practitioners of orthodox Islam and the 1400 years of Islam’s history have done a very good job of impressing Islam’s tenets upon others.  Even Hilaire Belloc identified Islam as the greatest threat western civilization would face by the 21st century. I hardly think this was because of President Trump’s travel ban. Khan says that those who claim that Muslims cannot be westerners and Muslims at the same time are trying to divide our communities. Mayor Khan, with all due respect, the only ones trying to divide our communities are the ones who are blowing up people into bits, running over innocent civilians in trucks, and throwing acid in the faces of people minding their business and going about their lives. They are quite literally dividing our communities.
