HEADLINE: States sue to block US rules curbing tailpipe emissions in cars, light trucks by Clark Mindock

• Republican attorneys general from 25 states on Thursday sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to block rules intended to reduce planet-warming emissions from cars and light trucks and encourage electric vehicle manufacturing, arguing the agency exceeded its legal authority. 
• The EPA rules aim to cut fleetwide tailpipe emissions for cars and light trucks by nearly 50% over 2026 levels in 2032, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 7.2 billion tons through 2055.
• The regulations are among the most significant environmental rules implemented under Biden, who has made tackling climate change a key pillar of his presidency. The EPA has forecast that between 35% and 56% of new vehicles sold between 2030 and 2032 would be electric under the rules – a range that reflected the flexibility the agency has said automakers have to pursue different pollution-cutting technologies.

HEADLINE: Electric Cars Emit More Particulate Pollution by Michael Buschbacher and Taylor Myers

• According to measurements by an emission-analytics firm, in gasoline cars equipped with a particle filter, airborne tire-wear emissions are more than 400 times as great as direct exhaust particulate emissions.
• California calls electric cars “zero emissions vehicles” because they don’t have tailpipes.
• That is deceptive though.
• Generating the electricity that powers those cars creates particulate pollution, and of course electric cars still use tires, which are made from petroleum. Electric cars weigh far more than gasoline-powered ones, so their tires degrade faster.
• The electric car weighed about one-third more than the hybrid and emitted roughly one-quarter more particulate matter because of tire wear. Total direct emissions went up, not down, when the electric car was driven. 
• Has anyone noticed that in the last 40 years every country tries things before us and ditches it b/c it doesn’t work just as we are picking up said stupid idea?

Civil War – terrible film and the problem is it is flying over everyones head.

• It takes place in the Oval Office, they storm the WH drag the President who is a clear Trump stand-in and the black woman puts 2 bullets in his chest and kill him.
• That is the last scene. 
• The military is standing around the Trump stand-in mafia style and they are taking photos of him bleeding out.
