U.S. Postmaster General To Pause Operational Reforms Until After Election

U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is set to announce later on Tuesday that he will suspend all operational reforms and initiatives until after the November presidential election, according to a draft statement seen by Reuters and sources briefed on the matter.

“I am suspending these initiatives until after the election is concluded,” DeJoy will say, according to the draft release, adding that the changes are to “avoid even the appearance of any impact on election mail,” according to the draft statement seen by Reuters.

The U.S. Postal Service did not immediately comment.

DeJoy will also say that the Postal Service will not change retail hours at Post Offices as well as that mail collection boxes will remain where they are and no mail processing facilities will be closed.

The Demoncrat Party is now in full throated defense and promotion of the USPS, insisting the President Trump has single-handedly ruined the USPS with his scheme to “prevent votes by mail”. Demoncrats also insist the USPS was a money-making juggernaut that is the default option of every American for shipping services until Trump. Rubbish! FedEx began competing with the USPS in 1980. The Growth of Overnight Delivery

As the 1980s began, companies started to increase their use of overnight delivery services, moving away from the United States Postal Service.

Federal Express started competing directly with the USPS by introducing the document-sized overnight letter, which could contain two ounces of documents, for a flat fee of $9.50. This service made Federal Express the company with the largest sales of any U.S. air freight company, ahead of Emery, Airborne Freight, and Purolator Courier.

The idea that the USPS was some golden child of efficiency and profit is, like the non-existent facts to support “pandemic” claims for Covid19, pure fantasy. For example, in 2017, according to PBS:

U.S. Postal Service marks 11 straight years of financial loss – he beleaguered U.S. Postal Service reported a financial loss Tuesday for the 11th straight year, citing declining mail volume and costs of its pension and health care obligations even as it predicted another strong holiday season of package deliveries.

In fact, in all but 3 of the last 19 years, the USPS has lost BILLIONS and the end of this red-ink is nowhere in sight; partially because of reforms passed by the 2006 Pelosi Congress under the Postal Accountability & Enhancement Act.

Demoncrats can whine about the USPS all they want but the fact is the service is considered a business and lists Congress as its “CEO” so if its bleeding red-ink and can’t help Demoncrats with the heist of election 2020, whose fault is that because it sure can’t be President Trump’s.
