• She is running for Coryn’s seat so who will she be running against? 
• Former Rep. Colin Allred dropped out of the race Monday morning, but state Rep. James Talarico remains as Democrats prepare to contend for GOP Sen. John Cornyn’s seat.
• Democrats have not won a statewide race in Texas in more than 30 years, but they have been eyeing next year’s Senate race as a potential pickup opportunity, with Cornyn facing primary challenges from state Attorney General Ken Paxton and GOP Rep. Wesley Hunt. Democrats need to net four seats to take back the Senate next year.
• If no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote in either of the March 3 primaries, the top two vote-getters advance to a primary runoff on May 26.
• I just think this is a circus and this is what the US Senate has become. 

• There is a feud now about the Blue Slips in the Senate.
• The Grassley Blue Slip – The “Grassley blue slip” refers to Senator Chuck Grassley’s handling of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s traditional blue slip process, a custom where home-state senators approve or object to judicial nominees via a literal blue paper form, affecting nominations for district judges and U.S. attorneys. Grassley, as Judiciary Chair, faced pressure from President Trump to abandon this process, especially for circuit court judges, leading him to sometimes bypass negative blue slips to advance Trump’s nominees, sparking debate over tradition versus partisan goals. 
• Approve the damn nomination or not, one Senator cannot hold these things up.
• All you need is 1 Senator to block a nominee. 
• Is a Federal Circuit Court Judge appointment, is that for life?
• Well yes they are for life just like the SCOTUS appointments. 
• So you could get stuck with a bad judge that hates everyone in that state and they could rule over you for 80 years!
• I think this Federal Judge appointments for life is nonsense. I don’t think this is what the Founding Fathers wanted either. They could have never expected political men that would live this long be in these positions.

Justice Gorsuch – You agree the president is vested will all Executive power right? You agree he has a duty to execute all the laws? Civil and criminal? Are there some laws he doesn’t have to? Does he have a duty to faithfully execute all the laws?  I’m not asking about if he has to bring about an indictment. Just to be clear if the government wants to bring a misdemeanor that person has to be reportable to the president. I’m asking you for your theory because you are building off of 2 words and putting a gloss over it. This line, I don’t know where it comes from. Maybe this is a recognition that Humphrey’s Executor was poorly reasoned. Maybe you are trying to backfill it here.

• I don’t hear enough from him on the Catholic or faith aspect. He used to talk about it heavily. That has dissipated a little bit. In the conservative world Protestantism is king. So he knows that and he is trying to appeal to a larger base.
