Today is Canada Day – the day when the 1867 the forming of the Dominion of Canada. We were previously under Britain rule. 

• Newfoundland stayed with the British rule so they actually sound or speak like people do in Ireland b/c it was such a massive fishing port.
• In 1967 they changed our National Anthem and we got a new flag. BEFORE this time we would sing God Save the Queen.
• Technically speaking, 1 in a million circumstance the Queen could veto something here but she would have to have the parliament backing.
• We still have the Queen on our money, it is the Queens dollar.
• We still have the Bank Holidays – St Stephens day basically which is the equivalent to your Black Friday sales.
• Indian Affairs – 
• There have been 5 Catholic Churches burned to the ground here.

• The Catholic church had schools for these indigenous children. 
• They didn’t have funding for the graves to be done properly.
• Transferring of land and such, it has turned into this, they are calling this genocide.

• Very BLM-ish….it is a rage from the Indigenous people…this is a tragedy.
• Welfare will destroy your life. These people are being super mistreated NOW but they weren’t back then.
