Winchester, VA – The BBC reports that Kern County, California Superior court Judge David Lampe has ruled that Tastries Bakery owner Cathy Miller is within her legal rights to refuse to bake a cake for same-sex weddings. In his decision, he said, “A wedding cake is not just a cake in a Free Speech analysis. It is an artistic expression by the person making it that is to be used traditionally as a centerpiece in the celebration of a marriage.” Owner Miller says she is “very happy to serve everything from my cases to anybody” but that she can not “be a part of a celebration that goes gainst my Lord and Saviour.”
