Chicago’s Cardinal Cupich is engaging in a dialogue about violence with a major abortion supporter

Winchester, VA – Oakes Spalding of Manhound’s Paradise has drawn attention to an event occuring in Chicago on Friday in which Cardinal Blase Cupich will host a “Conversation” with Julia Stasch, president of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. For $28, attendees can come listen to the two address the topic of “Chicago, Violence and the Catholic Church.” Both Cupich and Stasch claim to be committed to reducing violence, but the MacArthur Foundation, as Spalding points out, is presumably the largest private funder of abortion in Chicago, between their grants to Planned Parenthood and the Chicago Foundation for Women. It is said that the murder rate in Chicago may reach 700 this year, but when the number of abortions in the city is included, the number swells to 20,700. Cardinal Cupich is expected to draw attention to his foundation “The Instruments of Peace Venture Philanthropy Fund.” Presumably those instruments of peace have nothing to do with a vaccum and forceps, but the Cardinal is publicly allying himself with the city’s largest promotor of abortion…to speak out against violence.
