Coalition Forces Are Taking Back Raqqa

Winchester, VA – The Syrian Democratic Forces reaped the rewards of seven long months of advancing through Syria on Tuesday when they began their offensive to take back the city of Raqqa from the Islamic State. Military.com reports that so far, “Operation Wrath of the Euphrates” has accomplished breaking into the eastern al-Meshleb district of Raqqa and has captured the neighborhood and Harqal citadel to the west of Raqqa. There was also fierce conflict to the north of the city in a military complex. Sadly, civilian death tolls are rising, both in the city and outside the city as groups of people flee Raqqa. Abu Mohamed, a member of “Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently” told AFP, “ “The bombing has been going on for two days and hasn’t stopped for more than an hour…“
