Winchester, VA – U.S. News and World Report reports that stores in Poland were largely shut down yesterday as the new law banning nearly all trade on Sundays took effect. While some are very supportive of the laws, feeling that past exploitation of workers should be remedied with a mandated day of rest, others say that the benefits of the free market era should be expressed with no time limitations to trade. Such a law has been successful in Germany and Austria, but in Hungary was so unpopular it was repealed a year later.
