Golf legend Tiger Woods indicated Tuesday that he intends to play this week at the Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
“As of right now, I feel like I am going to play,” he told reporters, after playing at least one practice round this week at Augusta.
The 46-year-old Woods severely injured his leg in a February 2021 when he crashed an SUV in Southern California.
Doctors at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to fix his right leg inserted a rod into his tibia, or lower leg bone, in addition to putting screws and pins into his foot and ankle.
Woods is considered one of the greatest golfers in history – being tied for first in PGA Tour wins and ranked No. 2 for the number of men’s Major championships. He’s also had at least one major knee surgery and five back operations.
