  • You could say pretty much from Jamestown on, up until it was decided by the ruling Oligarchs that it was high time to launch the scheme to steal the wealth of the great middle American class and you were going to take their vocation and give it to someone in a foreign land.
  • American consumed seafood mainly comes from China.
  • How did that happen?
  • Louisiana passed a law, it is illegal to sell Chinese made crawfish in the state of Louisiana w/out saying ON THE LABEL it is a product of China.
  • This is OUTSIDE of all the regulations from the FDA.
  • You have a fishing industry here in the state of Louisiana that is big in paying for fishing guides or charters as they call them here. 
  • This is what the government did to us, its own citizens.
  • Did you know most garlic sold here is now actually grown in China too?
  • Why are we getting so much food and merchandise from another country? 
  • Why is this important? 
  • For safety of a country it shouldn’t depend on another country for food for its citizens.
  • We still have a Cuban embargo.
  • The Trump administration is about to cut relations off w/ Venezuela too.
  • Other than Chevron, who will miss trade w/ Venezuela? 
  • We have a generation of Americans that simply can’t understand what was lost.
  • My children who are almost 30 never knew what America looked like when it was an industrial powerhouse.

It’s based on a a fallacy, and the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade someone must lose. That somehow when you trade w/ someone there is a loser. Every trade that occurs in the market place is mutually beneficial. No American consumer trades w/ China, they trade w/ Wal-Mart. The trade is always a win/win. You have to ask yourself is trade good or bad. We have to get back to the fundamentals.

  • What if that coat in his example was stollen? 
  • What if it was stolen off a Chinese container that came from a factory that employed children?
  • Did everyone in that transaction benefit? 
  • Did the Chinese child benefit? 
  • Rand is assuming a FAIR playing field. 
  • Rubber – 
  • This is a great example of where trade is necessary and good for BOTH countries. 
  • No issue w/ trading for rubber b/c we don’t grow the trees for that. 
  • Bananas – 
  • Do you grow bananas here in this country? 
  • How do you get the bananas into this country?

At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable. Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

  • So basically this was Trump playing a game of poker with countries.
  • This is the Art of the Deal. 
  • What he has done here is leveraged your pocketbook and my wallet, this isn’t about government, you have the potential to be a customer for company X.
  • So what just happened? 
  • The tariff system has now protected the Cajun.
  • It has made the French mustard more expensive, giving an advantage to the Cajun mustard.
  • Does everyone understand how a trade and tariff system works now?
  • It is called a system of protection.
  • Here’s the proof tariffs work, I and many of you don’t mind buying Shiner Bock at $9 a 6pk. I could get Bud Light for $6.50 a 6pk but I’d rather support a craft ale brewery. 
  • Protection is not needed b/c it is made locally. 
  • The foreign intruder at this point is not a threat.
  • 125% tariff on China and a 90 day moratorium on all the countries that called to ‘make a deal’.

Why are we paying for sugary drinks that are poisoning our children? The taxpayer should not be paying for that in a nutrient supplemental system. We will pay for it twice. Now when they consume it and the diabetes bill later.

  • State of Utah said no to sodas on SNAP and in school lunches.
