14m | Government Shutdown QUESTION: What is a government shutdown? ANSWER: Many federal government agencies and programs rely on annual funding appropriations passed by Congress. Every year, Congress must pass, and the President must sign budget legislation for the next fiscal year, consisting of 12 appropriations bills, one for each Appropriations subcommittee. Congress has not yet enacted any of the 12 bills for FY 2025 that make up the discretionary spending budget. In a “shutdown,” federal agencies must discontinue all non-essential discretionary functions until new funding legislation is passed and signed into law. Essential services continue to function, as do mandatory spending programs. - What a better way to send Kamala back to the White House to do some work.
- This is what drives me crazy about all of this.
- Speaker Johnson has all the cards.
- Shut the damn thing down, tell Biden and Harris to go stick it you aren’t getting any deals.
- Your administration is out of control, the spending is out of control and we are going to get it under control.
- This is the CONSTITUTIONAL way to do it.
- Article 1 Section 7
- Harris and Biden can’t do anything about this other than Harris could break a tie.
- Wouldn’t that be delicious!!!
- Make her be the tie breaker on this vote and let Trump run wild on her for it.
- Why isn’t everyone talking about this?
|
| Butler Pennsylvania- Instead of screaming at Secret Service leaders in hearings, subpoena the ones that were there that day.
- END OF STORY.
- Why hasn’t this been done yet?
- It may be they were chasing down that bomb threat.
- It may be something more nefarious than that but at the end of the day we need to know what it was.
|
21m | Back to Government Shutdowns- In Clinton’s case, Republicans pledged to balance the budget with their “Contract with America” while cutting social programs and repealing Clinton’s 1993 tax increase. The president was willing to balance the budget—and indeed wanted to—but he was opposed to Republican methods. Republicans were willing to test Clinton by refusing to appropriate the funds the federal government needed to operate.
- The first government shutdown lasted from November 14–20. More than 800,000 “nonessential” federal employees stayed home from work. House Speaker Newt Gingrich publicly said he started the shutdown, in part, because he felt snubbed by the president during a flight on Air Force One. Other conservatives suggested that the shutdown wasn’t so bad.
- The second shutdown occurred from December 16, 1995 through January 5, 1996. Public opinion polls showed that the majority of Americans blamed Republicans, and this pressure helped bring Republicans to the table to reopen the government.

| Kamala Harris and Oprah Winfrey Interview- Did you know Kamala had a teleprompter?
- Have you ever seen Trump w/ a teleprompter when doing a Town Hall type event?
- Yes he has them for his campaign stops because it has his speech on it.
- Town Hall – no he does not typically have one that we know of.

41m | Government Shutdown Continues HEADLINE: THE 1995–96 GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN by Bryan Craig - 800,000 “nonessential” federal employees
- Lets stop right there on this ‘nonessential’ stuff.
- Why do we have that many ‘nonessential’ employees working in the Federal government?
- If they are nonessential why do they have a job in the first place?
- Doesn’t everyone want to be essential?
- Do you want to be labeled as ‘nonessential’?
- QUESTION: Why are we afraid of disemploying and bringing some of this to an end?
- Who has ever aspired to be a nonessential employee?
- QUESTION: What is a Continuing Resolution?
- ANSWER: A continuing resolution temporarily funds the government in the absence of full appropriations bills, often by continuing funding levels from the prior year. Traditionally, CRs have been used to give lawmakers a short period of time to complete their work on remaining appropriations bills while keeping the government open. CRs sometimes apply to only certain appropriations, but they can also be used to fund all discretionary functions for as long as the entire year.
- Why do we need Federal Parks?
- I’m all for STATE parks but Federal?

1h42m | HEADLINE: Amber Thurman Died From The Abortion Pill, Not Pro-Life Laws by Monique Chireau Wubbenhorst and Mary Hallan Fiorito - Amber Nicole Thurman had ingested the chemical abortion pill regimen, which consists of the drugs mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone ends the life of the developing human being; misoprostol helps achieve complete expulsion of the embryo.
- Worth noting the FDA’s 2000 approval of mifepristone acknowledged its risks and enacted safety requirements, including a seven-week gestational limit, requiring women to see a physician in person, and a mandatory one-time post-abortion appointment to confirm that the uterus was empty and that bleeding had subsided.
- Democrat efforts to relax safety requirements for abortion pills, important safeguards no longer apply. When Thurman experienced “complications” from the abortion, which ProPublica wrongly asserts are “rare,” she went to the hospital for a D&C.
- Minimizing the risks of mifepristone can lead women to ignore abortion doubts and adverse reactions. Yet ProPublica paints Thurman’s abortion pill complications as “rare.”
- Retained baby body parts and other abortion pill complications are not rare. One study comparing outcomes between medical and surgical abortion showed that with abortion pills, the risk of hemorrhage was 15.6 percent, the risk of incomplete induced abortion (retained fetal parts or placenta) was 6.7 percent, and the risk of emergency surgery was 5.9 percent. Given that at least half of the approximately 834,637 abortions that occur in the United States every year are with pills, approximately 27,960 will have an incomplete induced abortion. How many of them will endure the complications of abortion, as Thurman did, until they’re so severe they lead to death?
- From From Sept. 28, 2000, through Dec. 31, 2022, the FDA received reports of 4,218 adverse events, 1,049 hospitalizations, 604 patients who required transfusion, and 418 infections, 75 severe. This is probably the tip of the iceberg.
- These people want D&C’s to kill.
