• The homeless problem in D.C. is something that all of us who work in the city must deal with on a daily basis — on our way to work, or on the way to lunch or to off-campus meetings, or on the way home or to the all-too-common after-work events that happen here (where there danger factors compound because, for example, more hours of the day have expired in which the homeless can have guzzled even more alcohol, or ingested various drugs, and become even more belligerent).

Karoline Leavitt – The Metropolitan PD will enforce the laws already on the books. The homelessness problem has ravaged the city. D.C, code 221307 DC Municipal code 24100 give the PD authority to take action when it comes to homeless encampments. These people will be given options. They can leave encampments, taken to homeless shelter, offered drug addition treatment and/or mental health services or they will face jail time. They will be susceptible to fines or to jail time. These are pre-existing laws that are already on the books. They have not been enforced.

In Baltimore, we have the fewest amount of homicides through this date on record. That’s 50 years, a 50 year low. Maybe we are too far gone. Too far gone from the broken right wing policies of zero tolerance policing and all the things that did not make our city safer for all those many years. HEADLINE: At Iowa State Fair, EPA Administrator Zeldin Announces Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Fix 

• Lee Zeldin announced new action to protect American farmers, truckers, and other diesel equipment operators from sudden speed and power losses caused by diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) systems. Alongside U.S. Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler at the Iowa State Fair, EPA issued clear guidance urging engine and equipment manufacturers to revise DEF system software in existing vehicles and equipment to prevent these sudden shutdowns, giving operators more time to repair faults without impacting productivity or safety.
• Previously, farmers and truckers faced rapid engine slowdown to 5 mph within just four hours of a sensor alert. Under EPA’s new guidance for heavy-duty trucks, for example, after a fault is detected, only a warning light appears for 650 miles or 10 hours. Most significantly, there is no performance impact for at least one workday. Then, the engine only mildly derates, by 15%, but this does not limit speed, allowing trucks to operate normally for up to 4,200 miles or two work weeks. Only after about four work weeks does speed drop to 25 mph until repairs are made. Most operators are expected to fix issues well before reaching this limit. Moving forward for farmers, non-road equipment will see no impact for the first 36 hours before there’s a slight torque reduction.
• The revised DEF guidance will save family farmers an estimated $727 million annually.
• These guys have to know that the environmental pox on the American people is ethanol. 
• That is something Trump could talk a lot more about.
