FROM THE CHATROOM: Social media creates social anxiety. An actual conversation requires that you respond right away to a question or comment directed to you. Hiding behind the internet allows you to think out every response before saying. So I’d imagine the thought of a real conversation with an actual person could be scary for kids who grow up with social media and texting as their main form of communication.
