• Been gardening for about 12 years or so but didn’t go full homesteader mode until 2 years ago when we moved here.
• Our biggest challenge is trying to get the work done on the farm w/ my wage slave job.
• YARD GOATS: they control the undesirable weeks and regenerate the soil w/ their poop. If a goat wants to get out it will get out, you can’t really force them to stay. The fence is a psychological thing. You don’t ever pet or give treats when they are NOT inside the fence. This entices them to stay in the fence.
• It is a natural control to keep things under control and healthy.
• CHICKENS: free-range or chicken tractor.
• TURKEYS: manure more concentrated than chicken so they will do the same thing that chickens will but better.
• POTATOES: I wouldn’t recommend store bought potatoes b/c you don’t know what they put on them before the store.
