• There is a lot of emphasis in certain circles on family life – a certain disordered emphasis, that they would never have young people consider vocations (properly so-called). 
• They pray for vocations but NOT THEIR KIDS!
• This is dysfunctional but it is nothing new.
• Parents are frequently your enemy and not your friend in this instance.
• Let’s not attack or promote one thing at the expense of the other.
• There are some Priest that OVER play the vocation too and they become ‘hard-sell salesmen’ for the vocation. 
• Encourage your sons to be Brothers and not just Priests.
• The consecrated life – the cloistered sisters – you don’t even see them but they spend their entire lives singing and praising our Lord.
• If we understood what REAL LOVE was, we would think differently about these things.
• You have MORE people to love when you take a religious vocation.
