Winchester, VA – Two stories of arrests were in the news yesterday. One tragic, one bizarre. UPI reports that 2 human traffickers, identified by the Guardian as Al Mabrouc Wisam Harar from Libya, and Mohamed Ali Al Bouzid of Egypt, were arrested after the boats of the at least 150 people they were trafficking sank. Among the dead, 26 Nigerian girls aged 14 to 18, who were found when Spanish military ships came to rescue the migrants. May God rest their souls. The Washington Post via the Associated Press reports that Royal Canadian Mounted Police made an unusual discovery at a two car vehicular accident in western Canada. Inside the truck were were a woman, her father, and her baby, all of whom had been kidnapped by the individuals in the other car. The father had escaped from the trunk, and his daughter and grandchild escaped shortly thereafter. The truck driver offered them assistance, thereby making himself a target for the kidnappers in the other car, who then rammed into the back of his truck.  Inside the other car? Five naked people: three adults and two youths. The adults were charged with kidnapping and resisting arrest, and the youths were released without charges. Officials believe drugs or alcohol may have come into play in this situation. You think?
