BRITISH POLICE ARE CONSIDERING CHARGES OF CORPORATE MANSLAUGHTER OVER THE GRENFELL TOWER FIRE

Winchester, VA – Reuters reports that British police are investigating the possibility of charging the local council with corporate manslaughter for the Grenfell Tower fire which claimed the lives of 80 people. The BBC reports that Kensington and Chelsea Council, and the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organization have been notified that there are sufficient grounds to consider them suspect in the offense of corporate manslaughter. The BBC announced on Wednesday that the charred building would soon be covered in protective wrap to help with forensic investigations. It is expected that the building will be demoslished towards the end of 2018. In the meanwhile, recovery efforts are still taking place.
