Winchester, VA – The BBC reports that a California jury awarded a $417 million settlement against Johnson & Johnson to be paid to Eva Echeverria, whose terminal ovarian cancer has been linked to her decades-long use of Johnson & Johnson baby powder for feminine hygeine. Echeverria sued the company, alleging that they knew about the link between talcum powder and elevated cancer risk, and concealed it from the public. Johnson & Johnson currently has thousands of claims filed against them and of the five lawsuits against them that were tried in Missouri, they have lost four.
