Here’s what to listen for this hour: A 16 year old girl and 15 other children file a complaint against 5 countries over climate crisis, a Vatican office suspends the decision of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis to no longer recognize this school as a Catholic institution and Trump remarks on religious freedom. Also a media update from The Catholic Action League.

A Swedish climate activist by the name Greta Thunberg and 15 other children filed a complaint with the United Nations on Monday. They said that five of the world’s major economies have violated their human rights by not taking adequate action to stop the unfolding climate crisis.

This complain was shortly filed after the 16 year old Thunberg delivered a passionate speech to the world leaders at the UN Climate Action Summit.

The quote that stands out, “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words — and yet, I’m one of the lucky ones,” Thunberg said Monday. “People are suffering, people are dying.”

The petition had listed 5 counties. Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey — which they say have failed to uphold their obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, a 30-year-old human rights treaty which is the most widely ratified in history.

The children who hail from 12 different countries, detailed that the countries have not used the resources to prevent these deadly consequences of the current climate crisis.

In Indianapolis, Indiana there is some trouble brewing at Brebeuf Jesuit High School. A Vatican office has temporarily suspended the decision of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis to no longer recognize Brebeuf Jesuit School as a Catholic institution over the school’s refusal to fire a teacher in a same-sex marriage.

The decision to cut ties with Brebeuf was announced last June in a decree by ArchBishop Charles Thompson.

This school reached out to the Vatican’s Congregation for Catholic Education in Rome to consider these issues at hand.

“We have just learned that the Congregation for Catholic Education has decided to suspend the Archbishop’s decree on an interim basis, pending its final resolution of our appeal,” school President Father Bill Verbryke wrote in a letter posted to the school’s website on Monday. “The Archbishop very kindly informed me that, as a result of this temporary suspension of his decree, Brebeuf is free to resume our normal sacramental celebrations of the Eucharist. Most happily, this means that we will be able to celebrate the Mass for the Feast Day of St. Jean de Brebeuf on October 24.”

In the letter Verbryke said the suspension of the order is temporary.

“It does not mean that the matter has been resolved, or that any permanent decision has been made,” Verbryke wrote. “It also does not mean that anyone should infer that the Congregation for Catholic Education is leaning one way or the other on any of the issues at hand. The Congregation has simply granted a temporary suspension of the Archbishop’s decree until it makes a final decision.”

There is no current timeline set for this issue at hand.

Our Lady of Ransom

This feast commemorates the founding of a wonderful Order dedicated to the Immaculate Mother of God in the year 1218, and fully established in the year 1223. Its founders were a saint named Peter Nolasco, a saint named Raymond of Pennafort and a king named James of Aragon. Its purpose was to rescue Catholics from captivity, from the Moors, by the help and protection and intercession of the powerful Mother of God. Prayers are especially said on this day in the Catholic Church to rescue England from the hands of the heretics who are still keeping the lovely people of that country from the true Faith and from the love of the Mother of God.

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence delivered the opening remarks on religious freedom in New York City ahead of the annual United Nations General Assembly as the Global leaders are in New York.

On Monday, Trump pointed to the issue to protect religious freedom. Which his aides said that was the center piece of Trump’s visit to the conference with the world leaders.

The religious freedom event took place alongside a special Climate Action Summit. Trump, who was originally expected to skip the event, made a brief appearance, sitting in for about 15 minutes, watching Indian Prime Minister and German Chancellor deliver remarks.

Trump called on all world leaders to take action to protect religious freedom in the wake of rising persecution of people based on their faith and beliefs.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SAID: The United States is founded on the principle that our rights do not come from government, they come from God. This immortal truth is proclaimed in our Declaration of Independence and enshrined in the First Amendment to our Constitution’s Bill of Rights. Our founders understood that no right is more fundamental to a peaceful, prosperous and virtuous society than the right to follow one’s religious convictions. Approximately 80% of the world’s population live in countries where religious liberty is threatened, restricted or even banned and when I heard the number I said please go back and check it because it can’t possibly be correct and sadly it was, 80%”

President Trump plans to address the General Assembly later today.

CATHOLIC ACTION LEAGUE OPPOSES GENDER X INSANITY, CALLS FOR FEDERAL PROBE OF MARTY WALSH

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts has been in the news opposing Gender X legislation, and on the League’s call to investigate the Marty Walsh administration for using the same tactics in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade takeover which, in the Boston Calling case, resulted in the conviction of two city officials for extortion.

The so-called “Gender X” bill, now before the Legislature, would allow mentally ill persons suffering from gender identity disorder to arbitrarily alter everything from their birth certificates to their drivers’ licences to their voter registration forms to reflect their gender preference.

In a September 12th interview with Bob Katzen of Beacon Hill Roll Call, Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle called the proposal “a deranged idea, recklessly embraced without regard for societal harm or unpredictable consequences.”

Doyle went on to say that “Science, reason, common sense, natural law and millennia of human experience all tell us that there are only two biological sexes. The very concept of gender identity is artificial, subjective and potentially open ended.”

Doyle comments were published in The Enterprise of Falmouth, the Greenfield RecorderThe Somerville TimesThe Somerville Weekly News, the Taunton Daily GazetteWicked Local MedwayWicked Local Plainville, and Wicked Local Shrewsbury.

On August 7th, a federal jury in U. S. District Court in Boston convicted two officials of the administration of Mayor Marty Walsh of extortion in the Boston Calling Music Festival case. Walsh’s aides threatened to withhold city permits unless festival organizers agreed to hire the mayor’s political supporters in local unions.

The Catholic Action League promptly issued a press release calling upon the U. S. Attorney for Massachusetts to open an investigation of Mayor Walsh for employing the same unlawful tactics in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade controversy.

The League’s statement said: “With both the festival and the parade, the same strong arm tactics were used to accomplish the same political object. Threats were made to deny city permits if organizers refused to accede to city demands to accept in their event the campaign loyalists of Marty Walsh.”

“Crash Line Productions were threatened by functionaries of the mayor. The Allied War Veterans were threatened by the mayor himself. The pattern is identical—an abuse of power characterized by thuggish tactics to advance the political interests of the Walsh administration.”

The League’s call for a federal probe was reported in the Boston Herald and the New Boston Post.
