Winchester, VA – NBC News reports that Nancy Pelosi is losing popularity in the Democrat party after the defeat of Jon Ostoff in Tuesday’s Georgia election to fill the House of Representatives seat vacated by Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price. Grumblings could be heard from Joe Cunningham, who is vying for a seat in South Carolina, and tweeted, “If elected, I will not vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. Time to move forward and win again.”  Representative Kathleen Rice of New York said on CNN, “We need leadership change. It’s time for Nancy Pelosi to go, and the entire leadership team.” When asked if the Democratic caucus could use new leadership, Repesentative Bill Pascrell said, “We’re always reviewing that, believe me.” Although it appears that her position as House Minority Leader is safe for now, the fact that the last three congressional elections have swung towards the Republicans during the term of a supposedly unpopular Republican president could spell change for the leadership of the Democratic party in the next couple of years, if further elections continue to reap no harvest for the Democrat Party.
