Winchester, VA – The annual bipartisan charity Congressional Baseball Game took place yesterday evening at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The congressmen knelt in prayer before the first pitch was thrown by Officer David Bailey, who was wounded in the shooting at the YMCA practice field in Alexandria earlier this week. CNN reports that the Democrats won handily, beating the Republicans 11-2, however upon being given the trophy, Democrat Representative Mike Doyle handed it over to Republican Representative Joe Barton place in Representative Steve Scalise’s office. Scalise remains in critical condition, yet the AP reported last night that he had shown improvement in the previous 24 hours. The overarching theme of the evening was the presentation of a united front in the midst of policy differences.
