Winchester, VA – In this Celestial Musings, The Huffington Post reports that U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan ordered the Trump administration to assist an underaged illegal immigrant in procuring an abortion. The young lady, who is in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement and is 15 weeks pregnant, had been trying to obtain an abortion for weeks, but was being taken to crisis pregnancy centers and given the option to have the abortion if she sought it outside the country. She is being represented by the ACLU, and senior staff attorney Brigitte Amiri said of the young lady, “Her courage and perseverance are incredible, but no one should have to go to court to get a safe, legal abortion. And no one should be held hostage to the extreme anti-abortion views of a handful of government officials.” Since when does seeking the easy way out at the expense of an innocent life constitute courage and perseverance? And which is worse—being held hostage to anti-abortion views, or being an innocent person subject to the death penalty because you simply exist? Please remember to pray for a change of heart for this young mother, and that the life of this child will be spared.
