Things of Concern in Karen Read Trial

  1. All the butt dials
  2. An injury to the arm that looks like a dog bite
  3. Rehoming the dog
  4. Internet searches regardless of the time
  5. Brake light fragments found by the flag pole
  6. Sub par police investigation
  7. Red solo cups
  8. No search warrant for the house
  9. JM testimony
  10. Conflicting testimony of when the body was found or first seen in the yard
  11. Cellphones destroyed or disposed of
  • Jessica McCabe not telling the 911 operator that there was a Boston police officer that she loves lying on the ground unresponsive.
  • Proctor stepping up to lead investigation when his shift had ended along with not recusing himself because of his closeness with the family that had a dead man on their front lawn.
  • How a piece of hair and a small piece of glass withstood wind and snow over the course of several hours and numerous miles and remained on Karen’s car for police to find.
  • There were NO frostbite signs on John O’Keefes body.
  • John O’Keefe’s phone stopped moving at 12:32 am.
  • Taillight pieces not found during the initial search when there was less snow accumulated.
  • All of the taillight pieces (except for that one spot) were found over a period of 3 weeks – some of them could have been moved by animals, melting snow, wind, people walking etc.
  • Each trooper that found pieces of taillight, coincidentally found pieces that when reassembled, were a complete section in itself. One guy for every single piece of the bottom right part, someone else found all of the pieces to the bottom left, someone else found all of the pieces to the top right, etc…
  • The Google search at 2:27am (or 6:23am).
  • Jennifer McCabe still texting John after Karen was already long gone (her last text was at 12:45, 10 minutes after Karen connected to John’s WiFi)
  • No recorded interviews video or audio.
  • No meaningful pictures taken of anything crime scene wise.
  • Common Wealth dragged their feet/failed to share discovery requests from the defense.
  • Evidence Chain of custody issues (many) – red solo cups, no custody chain log.
  • No body bruises from getting hit by a Lexus, how?
  • The medical examiner declared the death undetermined. Apparently, there were people in MSP leadership roles that said it was a rookie mistake not being able to have the medical examiner see it their way.
  • Steve Scanlon telling the story of what happened to John, then not speaking about his information anymore.
  • Peggy and Paul were already sure that this was Karen’s fault by 9:30am that morning.
  • In 3-4 inches of snow at 6am on the 29th, how did the responding police not see a sneaker in the snow next to John.
  • Why did Brian Albert replace the basement floor before selling it?
  • The people in the home tell police John O’Keefe never went inside the house but his Apple watch has him going up and down stairs.
  • Jennifer McCabe saying Higgins’ jeep was parked by the mailbox while numerous actions ie the arrival of both the Read and Nagel vehicles, and some of her own testimony, etc could not have happened with it being there.
  • Jennifer McCabe being surprised by seeing the side door on the Albert’s house as if she hasn’t been at that house several dozen times throughout the years.
  • A police report from Bukhenik after interviewing Chris and Julie Albert saying Julie found out about John O’Keefe’s death via a missed call she received from Jenn McCabe at 4:55 AM.
  • But then we have Julie saying she arrived at 34 Fairview at around 8:30 to a house of somber people and not knowing what what was going on.
  • Why did no one see the body when they left the house?
