Convicting a person based on their fingerprint is rather difficult in our time. The trials of today require DNA evidence, plus the fingerprint of the alleged perp to get a conviction.  However it was a different story in 1902.

On this day in history the first conviction based on fingerprint identification occurred. A London Metropolitan Court convicted a criminal because of a fingerprint he left on a window rail.  This was all the evidence the cops needed to identify and convict the criminal.  Fiorella discusses the history of fingerprint identification and in honor of Roald Dahl day, she talks about her favorite books from the author. You can hear that and more when you listen to this episode of the Early Show.
