A large number Inuit women of Greenland were fitted with birth control devices without their knowledge and consent. 

67 women filed a claim for compensation from the Danish government. They claimed the government fitted them with intrauterine devices, (IUD), decades ago. These devices caused lifelong health problem and unexplained fertility.  The Danish government launched an investigation over a year ago and their findings will not be published until 2025, which is not acceptable to this group of women.  The investigation is looking into the forced and deceitful practice of birth control by the government on the Inuit population during the late 60s.
