• In light of the US veto of a ceasefire resolution in the UN Security Council, and noting that the UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly voted in favor of an immediate ceasefire that Israel is ignoring, and further noting that the Israeli Defense Force is actively carrying out military operations in Gaza that can only be described as genocidal, and further noting that the Israeli Defense Force is actively preparing to expand the scope and scale of its regional aggression, it is time for Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran, along with any other like-minded nations, to declare that Israeli actions in Gaza and in general represent an imminent risk to the security of all  Palestinian people, and the Middle East as a whole and, in light of this threat, that a collective security arrangement is being entered to by Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran which, under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, will initiate preemptive self defense operations against Israel with the goal of neutralizing the threat posed by Israel to Gaza, the Palestinian people, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and the Middle Eastern region as a whole.
• Hezbollah and Syria should immediately begin military operations designed to relieve the pressure from Gaza and the West Bank by seeking to expel Israel from the Golan Heights and Shebaa Farms, and occupy northern Israel. Hezbollah and Syria should begin a general bombardment of Israeli leadership and military targets, with an emphasis on destroying Israeli airfields and military concentrations. Iran should refrain from attacking unless Israel escalates by bombing civilian targets in Lebanon and/or Syria, or if the United States enters the conflict on the side of Israel. If either or both of the conditions arises, Iran should use the totality of its longe-range strike capabilities to neutralize US military capabilities in the Middle East and eastern Mediterranean Sea, and to eliminate Israeli military capabilities to project power outside the borders of Israel. Pakistan should announce as formal policy that it will retaliate with nuclear weapons against Israel should Israel use a nuclear weapon. All military operations will continue until which time either Israel is defeated or Israel agrees to unconditionally adhere to the will of the United Nations General Assembly regarding the implementation of a ceasefire.
• Of course, this will never happen, which is why Israel will probably end up prevailing over the long run.
• This is the time for decisive action to eliminate the threat of Israel to the collective security of the Middle East.
• Golda Meir forever regretted not launching a preemptive attack against Egypt and Syria in 1973.
• Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran will likewise regret not launching a preemptive strike against Israel now.

It’s right in front of us all, in the streets, with vast crowds of Muslims and non-Muslim allies calling for the death of Jews. Not “Palestinian rights,” but the murder of Jews. A friend who teaches political science back in America texted last night, “You know a few years ago a lot of immediate post 9/11 rhetoric about the confrontation with Islam seemed a bit overblown. Now it seems prescient, maybe even a bit subdued.”

• The story is of course familiar. Six-year-old Michael Myers suddenly stabs his sister to death on Halloween and is committed to an insane asylum for life. Exactly 15 years later, he escapes and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield, where he targets shy teenager Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her two friends, Annie and Linda. Meanwhile, his therapist, Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance), who alone knows what Myers truly is, tries to hunt him down and stop him.
• To understand this film, it is necessary to understand its monster. The thing in “Halloween” is usually referred to as Michael Myers, the name of the young boy in the opening. However, that’s not how Nick Castle is credited. He’s listed as playing “The Shape.” What is a shape? It is form without matter. A circle has the same nature, whether rendered in wood, ink, smoke, or mathematical notation. Thus, the Shape in “Halloween” is some form or reality that can materialize in many different ways, but always with the same nature.
• The  implication is that the Shape is in fact a supernatural manifestation of evil. It isn’t Myers; he is only the material the Shape uses to give itself substance. This is why it always wears a mask, to the point that when Laurie briefly tears it off, the Shape pauses its assault to re-don the mask.
• All the adults around them oblivious to what was going around.
• The mask Mike is wearing is a Captain Kirk mask they painted white to look creepy. 
• This is exactly where the horror lies; Laurie’s a perfectly decent, ordinary teenager of the kind you could meet in any school in any town in America. And she ends up the target of an unthinkably evil force, and for no other reason than that she happened to cross his path.
• There is a queasily real-world quality to much of the early stages of Laurie’s ordeal. The Shape follows her around town, silently watching her. It doesn’t do anything, but its behavior is clearly not normal. It’s not enough to make Laurie feel threatened, just uneasy. Many people have experienced such a feeling at some point, when they encounter someone who doesn’t quite follow the social script, who steps over the line, but not too far. When you feel in danger, but not enough to be really scared to make you break from routine, just enough to wonder. 
• The point is that we are deluding ourselves. Nothing we do here on Earth will eliminate evil from our midst. Evil is not a matter of a lack of education or economic desperation or bad laws or cultural norms or mental health. Evil, like love, is a choice; the choice to put the self first.
• As was said long ago, it is not what comes into a man that defiles, him, but what comes out of him: greed, lust, pride, irreverence, anger, hatred, and so on. That is why even in the safest, friendliest, most peaceful place on Earth, you can still find evil.
• THIS is the whole point:       The point of “Halloween” is that there is no point. The Shape doesn’t have any larger agenda or recognizably human motivation, no trauma in its past, no failure of education; it is simply and purely evil. You can’t counsel it, medicate it, heal it, or kill it.

• No one was going to die had that player not gotten checked, this was all for sports and entertainment.

• There’s a slight difference between how Western media covered a white man restraining a black man in self-defense and a black athlete brutally taking down his opponent with a literal blade.
• If you look very closely, you can see a difference between how Western media covered a white man dutifully restraining a black man in self-defense and a black athlete with a history of vicious behavior brutally taking down his opponent with a literal blade. One’s just a “freak accident.” The other epitomizes brutality and racism.

• Do authoritarians deserve a chance to be treated with grace and forgiveness?
• We hear many covid authoritarians talk about forgiveness but very few of them actually apologize for their behavior.  Galloway calls for “grace”, perhaps trying to appeal to the Christian notion of “turning the other cheek.”  He admits he was wrong on the mandates (because the data forces him to), but he doesn’t actually apologize for his behavior.  In fact, he excuses his behavior and the behavior of leftist politicians as them doing the best they could do given the imperfect information they had at the time.  This is a common tactic of misdirection.
