Today is the first time in 70 years that a king will open English Parliament.  This is also King Charles first speech to parliament in which he will lay out the governments plan for the upcoming parliamentary year. Yes Charles did deliver the Queen’s speech before she passed away, and yes this is a regularly occurring event, but this is the first time King Charles will deliver his speech.
