Winchester, VA – Live Action is reporting that according to a new law that took effect on Tuesday night, Hawaii’s pro-life pregnancy centers have been mandated to advertise free abortions or be slapped with fines for violations. The first violation for non-compliance will be $500 and $1,000 for each offense after that. Clinics who do not comply will also be vulnerable to civil law suits. None of Hawaii’s five pregnancy centers receive state funding. The required signage bears the following language:

This clinic does not provide abortion services or abortion referrals. Only ultrasounds performed by qualified healthcare professionals and read by licensed clinicians should be considered medically accurate.

Hawaii has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services including all FDA-approved methods of contraception, prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women.
