Winchester, VA – In this Celestial Musings, we consider how catastrophic events often bring out the best, and worst, in people. ABC News reports that fake Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been going house to house in the Houston area, telling people to evacuate, and then proceeding to enter the homes and loot them. For those wondering, you can tell a true ICE agent by their special agent badges, and the fact that they will be working alongside other federal officials in the disaster relief efforts. The stories of voluntarism and heroicism, however are pouring out of Texas. Yesterday evening saw confirmation of the deaths of two Harvey rescue volunteers, Jorge Perez and Yahir Vizueth, who jumped out of their boats to avoid electrocution, but were overcome by the currents. They were two of seven who jumped out of the boat, and three have been located successfully. Let us pray for the safety of all those putting their lives on the line to save their fellow man, and for the souls of Jorge Perez, and Yahir Vizueth, who gave their lives in the service of others.
