Winchester, VA – The Daily Mail is reporting that the Mayo Clinic has released a report saying that lesbians have higher rates of substance abuse, obesity, psychological disorders, and suicide attempts than heterosexual women. They also said that lesbians are less likely to seek preventative health screenings like mammograms and pap smears. The Mayo Clinic has not pinned the blame on the unnatural lifestyle and mental health disorders that afflict large portions of homosexuals of both sexes, but has instead pinned the blame on less access to health insurance and lack of acceptance towards homosexuality on the part of caregivers. Mayo Clinic recommended solutions to the problem include not assuming the sexual preferences of the patient, screening for mental health issues, and offering an emotionally safe environment.
