Coca-Cola perverted the image of Saint Nicholas when they released the ad featuring Santa Claus in 1930.  Instead of the saint that brought a small treat to children at the start of advent, we now have a larger than life figure that only comes on Christmas Eve.  However, Santa Claus still has a lot of the traits that defined Saint Nicholas.
