Here is what is happening today in the Brief. First, Pennywise and It: Chapter 2 looks to set Box Office Records. Presently, It: Chapter Two will launch in a record 4,570 locations, the widest ever release for an R-rated film, and we’re looking for it to debut with $105+ million. Can Pennywise save the Box Office from a disastrous summer?
Second, Walgreens, CVS, Wegmans ask shoppers to not openly carry firearms. Without delay, Walgreens, CVS Health Corp (CVS.N) and supermarket chain Wegmans Food Markets Inc said on Thursday they would start asking customers to not openly carry firearms in their stores. Since, Walmart Inc (WMT.N) and Kroger Co (KR.N) have changed gun policy following several deadly mass events in the United States. I will tell you why you shouldn’t worry.
Third, PA town shuts down fire station of alleged extremist link. Suddenly, a local volunteer fire company shut down after a member’s ties to an extremist group surfaced. At this instant, Haverford Township officials closed the Bon Air Fire Company after they say the fire company failed to act on the issue. Did they go too far?
