• At least seven people were killed and dozens injured Monday when 158 vehicles crashed during “superfog” conditions on a Louisiana expressway, authorities said. 
• Many of the vehicles caught fire — adding more dark smoke to the superfog sky — and complicating rescue efforts. At least one car went over the side of the raised roadway into the water of lakes Pontchartrain and Maurepas, but the driver escaped unharmed, according to state police.

HEADLINE: Seven are killed and 25 injured in huge pile up on Louisiana highway after ‘super fog’ made up of mist and wildfire smoke blanketed the road: Horrifying drone footage shows mangled wreckages across I-55 by Stephen M Lepore 

• Smoke from the Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge was thick enough that the city announced locations where free masks could be picked up in eastern New Orleans and in the Algiers neighborhood on the west bank of the Mississippi River.

• It is a crisis of faith that represents the greatest possible threat to our Republic. The loss of faith and fealty constitutes one of the greatest crises that our nation has faced since its foundation.
• “Popular constitutionalism” appears a form of discretionary or ad hoc compliance with constitutional law. If only “popular” constitutional rules are followed, the Constitution itself becomes a mere pretense for whatever the shifting majority or forming mob demands.
• In the end, a constitution remains a covenant not between citizens and their government but between each other as citizens. It demands a leap of faith; a commitment that despite our differences we will defend the rights of our neighbors.
• If nothing else, the Constitution has one thing to recommend it: we are still here. It is a Constitution that has survived economic and political upheavals. It survived a Civil War in which hundreds of thousands were killed.
• 9th state to ratify was New Hampshire.
• Rhode Island, N. Carolina they wanted amendments and they didn’t want to be in league w/ the S. Carolinians. 
• Remember this was a small set of states.
• Maybe rethinking the American Union’s time has come.
• There is a movement here in Louisiana, a Catholic revival so to speak.
• This state just elected in a landslide Attorney General Jeff Landry to be its Governor.
• He made it very clear he will enforce NO child mutilation and that LIFE begins at conception.
• You can call them little ‘r’ republican ideas but they are also Christian ideals.
• In the state of Oklahoma, a bill was passed making a public school….the Attorney General is throwing a hissy fit over this b/c he said if this continues and Catholics dip into the public funding of schools you will start to see Muslim schools and such.

• Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond filed a lawsuit Friday against the Statewide Virtual Charter School Board for its decision to approve what would be the nation’s first publicly funded religious school, the St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual Charter School.

• We know and God knew there would be men that wouldn’t follow Him.

HEADLINE: Oklahoma attorney general files lawsuit against state board over Catholic charter school by Beth Wallis 

• When the 1st Amendment says – 
• You have to understand the environment in which that was drafted.
• The State religion of CT, RI, VA, and NJ couldn’t be undone.
• Congress couldn’t make a law stating it favored one over the other.
• The ‘Wall of Separation’ came from Thomas Jefferson’s statement on VA. 
• The Original NRA -National Religious Association, knew that the original Federal Constitution would end us in an atheistic society.  They tried to changed it in the 1800’s, but ‘We the People’ did not listen.
• The Sin of Indifferentism – 
• All religions are equal – that seems to imply there isn’t one ring to rule them all then right?!
• Unity, there is one Baptism, there is one Eucharist….etc
• There are not many to rule them all there is ONE.
• Jesus Christ – He is the one.
• In Oklahoma they are actually getting it correct.
• I’m sure this will be followed up w/ Evangelical asking for a similar charter.
• This is not a violation of your oath.
• I’d like to get a definition of PUBLIC MONEY.
• If it is public, why doesn’t the public get to spend it?
• The STATE does not control the education of the children.
• There are other ways to educate them.

• Even successful Christian churches have a different social dynamic. One friend, who attends a thriving Catholic church a few doors down from my house, laments the lack of interaction outside of the building. Few members live nearby. Play dates between children must be intentionally organized because they require transportation across a wide area. There are few if any overlapping organizations or activities that bring the same group of people together in different ways and at different times, meaning that he rarely has the kind of joyful spontaneous encounters that my neighbors and I regularly enjoy in our common supermarket, restaurants, parks, schools, and streets.
• America has moved from a “townshipped” society, in which neighbors regularly communicated and collaborated with each other, to a “networked” one where we communicate with each other impersonally and often transactionally. Churches have not been immune to this move from “townships” to “networks.” Indeed, many newer Christian denominations prefer to use terms like “network” to describe their collaborative endeavors. Other Christians rely on national networks and internet resources for spiritual growth instead of commitments to a particular, limited group of people in their zip code.

• She forgave Alessandro the 18 year old neighbor that tried to rape her, he ultimately didn’t but he did kill her. 
• Maria Goretti died 24 hours after the attack.
• Alessandro was sentenced to 30 years in prison. For a long time he was unrepentant and surly. One night he had a dream or vision of Maria gathering flowers and offering them to him. His life changed. When he was released after 27 years, his first act was to beg the forgiveness of Maria’s mother.
• God has forgiven you, Maria has forgiven you so how can I not forgive you? – Assunta Goretti
• Devotion  to the young martyr grew, miracles were worked, and in less than half a century she was canonized. At her beatification in 1947, her 82-year-old mother, two sisters, and her brother appeared with Pope Pius XII on the balcony of St. Peter’s. Three years later, at Maria’s canonization, a 66-year-old Alessandro Serenelli knelt among the quarter-million people and cried tears of joy.

• Michael (his name is taken from the Hebrew “Who Is Like God?”), who defends the friends of God against Satan and all his evil angels;

• Raphael (the “Medicine of God” or “God Heals”), the archangel who, in the book of Tobit, takes care of Tobias on his journey.

• These archangels, all of whom play cameo roles in the Scriptures, have been venerated since the early days of the Church — but it’s Raphael I want to talk about today. Raphael has been called the Patron of Healing. Raphael is also the patron of the blind, of happy meetings, of nurses, of physicians and of travelers.
• Katechon =  is a biblical concept which has subsequently developed into a notion of political philosophy. The term is found in 2 Thessalonians 2:6–7 in an eschatological context: Christians must not behave as if the Day of the Lord would happen tomorrow, since the son of perdition must be revealed before.

• Out in Los Angeles there was a Cardinal that refused for several years to force his Priests to say the new Mass.
• There were pockets of resistance all over.
• There were Benedictines that continued to say the Benedictine Rite and Saint Michael was invoked in that rite too.

• What the hell is going on here?
• They don’t care if you know.

• This modern living world has not been good for the children.
• Children these days are more and more depressed and anxious. 
• So many people are so divorced of what life was like BEFORE social media and all these ‘scheduled’ events.
