There Is A Chastisement Upon Us Whether Fr. James Martin Admits It Or Not! with Matt Gaspers

Special Guest Matt Gaspers, Managing Editor of Catholic Family News

Father James Martin SJ Tweets out: “So don’t listen to anyone, even clergy, who tell you that the #coronavirus is a punishment for sins—either your sins, thesis of some group (usually a group thy oppose) or the world’s sins.”

  • So it appears Father Martin doesn’t believe Jesus punishes sin.
  • No one can read the bible and come to the conclusion that God doesn’t use chastisements as a means of correcting His people.
  • Crusader Stadium: “There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.   And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish,” Luke 13:1-5
  • How can God be Merciful unless there is a sin?
  • Chasten = chastisement = discipline
  • No matter what Fr. James Martin says
  • Has he never read the book of Job?
  • St Paul to Hebrews Ch 12:4-6, 12-13 “For you have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the consolation which speaketh to you, as unto children, saying: My son, neglect not the discipline of the Lord; neither be thou wearied whilst thou art rebuked by him. For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth; and he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. … Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield to them that are exercised by it the most peaceable fruit of justice. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down and the feeble knees: And make straight steps with your feet: that no one, halting, may go out of the way; but rather be healed.”
  • Catholic Sat News Twitter: 100 years ago, Our Lady of Loreto was officially named Patroness of Aviation by Pope Benedict XV on March 24, 1920. The occasion was marked by Holy Mass in the Holy House celebrated by Abp Fabio Dal Cin, Prelate of Loreto and Pontifical Legate for the Shrine of the Holy House.
